the Better Business Bureau's Torch Award for Market Place Ethics!
"The Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics awards are presented to
companies in recognition of their outstanding commitment to exceptional
standards in relationships to their consumers, employees, suppliers,
competitors, shareholders, and surrounding communities. Each one of
these BBB Torch Award winners started somewhere by measuring their own
character first, then by example, leadership and getting the right
people assembled, was able to successfully move his or her company
forward."

Release:
BBB Eastern Washington, North Idaho & Montana
February 29th, 2008
For the third year in a row, the Better Business Bureau held an evening
ceremony to present regional business winners the coveted "eagle," 2008
Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. On February 28, 2008, in the Wolff
Auditorium at the Jepson Center on Gonzaga University campus, the BBB
celebrated the 2008 Winners and Honorable Mentions in elegant style.
In partnership with the Gonzaga Ethics Institute, the Better Business
Bureau completed its application and award-giving process for the
ethical honor of the BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. GU and WSU
Business students assisted businesses with the application process and
six objective judges representing our service area reviewed applications
and deemed five regional businesses Winners, and three as Honorable
Mentions. Awards were given in an elegantly simple celebration in the
Wolff Auditorium of the Jepson Center on GU campus which included
acceptance videos shot and edited by Broadcast Journalism students
coordinated by Dan Garrity (Broadcast Journalism instructor at GU) who
along with students focused on asking winners "WHY" they felt their
business was ethical.
